Winmat Publishers Ltd. (WPL) is a limited liability company registered in 1996 as a publishing house under the Companies Act of Ghana 1963, and is actively involved in local publishing and the distribution of Winmat publications. The company is committed to the effective development of education in Ghana and West Africa.

WPL is under the management of a board of directors who are accountable to the shareholders. The day-to-day activities are run by a Managing Director directly supported by Administrative, Accounts, Sales/Marketing, Warehouse, and Publishing Managers.

WPL ensures that the book needs of people in all parts of the country and the sub-region are effectively taken care of. The company is at the forefront of educational publishing in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and the Gambia.

OUR OPERATIONS

WPL has been actively involved in developing local authorship skills in creative writing and educational textbooks. The company conducts research into areas where books are needed, looks for expert local authors in those subject areas, commissions them to write and publishes books to fill those void.

WPL collaborates with various subject associations and bodies in the preparation of textbooks as with the SHS GAST Science Books. The Company worked in collaboration with the Ghana Association of Science Teachers (GAST).

WPL has a solid base of highly qualified and experienced permanent and freelance staff in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, the Gambia and overseas. These experts work to produce materials of high standard.

WPL currently has offices in Ghana and Sierra Leone, and has performed creditably in the production and supply of textbooks as and when needed.

WPL in Sierra Leone is the leading Educational Publisher. Some of the leading clients are the Ministry of Education, NGO’s: United State Department of Agriculture (USDA), Catholic Relief Service (CRS), Plan International, Action Aid, International Relief Committee (IRC) and World Vision International.

CAPABILITIES

Winmat Publishers Limited currently publishes textbooks, atlases, wall maps, wall chats, globes and supplementary readers for pre-school, primary, secondary, and technical institutions in Ghana, Sierra Leone and Liberia. We market and distribute our books through various booksellers/bookshops, libraries and by direct contact with schools and other book users.

Textbooks for Teacher Training and tertiary institutions will also be incorporated soon. The company will also go into publishing books for various professions.
